The Project Steering Committee for the Eastern Africa Regional Digital Integration Project (EA-RDIP) convened in Hargeisa to conduct its formal statutory review and adopt the Annual Work Plan and Budget for the 2026 fiscal cycle.
The high-level committee, comprising representatives from key ministries, partner institutions, and the World Bank, conducted a thorough audit of achievements across the 2025 financial year before setting priority milestones for 2026.
Key priorities endorsed for 2026 include:
1. Launching competitive bidding for primary terrestrial fiber routes across priority economic corridors.
2. Finalizing feasibility studies and architectural designs for a National Government Data Center.
3. Rolling out digital literacy and skills enhancement modules for public servants, youth, and women entrepreneurs.
4. Implementing institutional cybersecurity guidelines and incident response frameworks.
The committee expressed unanimous satisfaction with the governance rigor maintained by the PIU and authorized the immediate execution of the 2026 procurement pipeline.
