The Honourable Minister of Information and Communications Technology (MICT), H.E. Dr. Abdisalan Hussein Awale, alongside senior ministry leadership, chaired an executive coordination session with the EA-RDIP Project Implementation Unit (PIU).
The meeting provided an opportunity to review progress across all four project components:
- Component 1: Connectivity Market Development & Integration
- Component 2: Data Market Development & Integration
- Component 3: Online Market Development & Integration
- Component 4: Project Management & Institutional Support
During the session, Minister Awale reaffirmed the Government of Somaliland's dedication to modernizing digital infrastructure, emphasizing the urgent need to bridge the digital divide between urban and rural populations.
"Digital connectivity is not a luxury; it is a fundamental driver of socio-economic progress, public service efficiency, and private sector innovation," stated Minister Dr. Abdisalan Hussein Awale. The Ministry directed the PIU to expedite pending procurements, maintain stringent safeguard adherence, and ensure transparent stakeholder engagement at every phase.
